Isold
Uggadottir is an accomplished filmmaker in New York City, with over 9
years of experience in the field of production and post production. In
2006 she wrote, directed and edited a 20 minute narrative film, Family
Reunion, which was selected for the Sundance Film Festival 2007.
Family Reunion was also nominated for
the Icelandic Academy Awards, and selected for over 90 international films
festivals, collecting 9 international awards. It sold to PBS, Iceland´s
National Broadcasting station and various networks in Europe.
Addionally Isold has worked extensively with the Emmy Award-winning production
company Partisan
Pictures. Her most comprehensive project was the editing of 4 x 1-hour
episodes for a History Channel documentary series on the American Revolution.
In
2008, Isold was selected for the Berlin Talent Campus,
held in conjunction with the Berlinale Film Festival. During that time
Screen International (the renowned British film publication) named Isold
"one of the rising stars of Icelandic film.”

In February 2010 her 2nd, short film COMMITTED
took home the Icelandic Edda Award for Best Short Film at the Icelandic
Academy Awards 2010. Additionally, the film was honored with a Culture
Award Nomination at the 31st Culture Awards in Iceland. COMMITTED premiered
at the Reykjavik Intesrnational Film Festival in September 2009, and subsequently
screened at the Hamptons Int’l Film Festival, as well as the BFI
London Film Festival. It is next slated to play at the Seattle Int’l
Film Festival, as it continues to travel the festival circuit. Most recently
it was awarded for Best Cinematography at the European Independent Film
Festival in Paris.
Isold´s 3rd short film, CLEAN,
recently played at the Aspen Short Film Festival, receiving a mention
in Indiewire, where Kim Adelman called it “an
unflinching drama.”
Isold's work has been funded by The New York State Council of the Arts,
New York Women in Film and Television, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association,
the Icelandic Film Centre, The City of Reykjavik, The American Scandinavian
Society in New York, IFP in New York, as well as the Frameline Film &
Video Completion Fund in San Francisco.
Currently she is writing a feature film at Columbia
University’s Graduate Film Program in New York where she
pursues directing and screenwriting, as well as preparing for her MFA
thesis
(4th and last short film) to be filmed in August of 2010.
Isold spends her summers in lovely Iceland where she works in film and
television for established production company Pegasus
Pictures.
